The US and its allies are trying to create the illusion that the whole world has consolidated around the West because of the situation in Ukraine.
This opinion was expressed in his material for the Chinese edition of the Global Times columnist Mark Blacklock. In his opinion, the thus united West is unsuccessfully trying to hide the geopolitical split.
“If you use only Western media to follow the events in Ukraine, then you might think that literally every country sends humanitarian aid or weapons to Kyiv in response to the pleas Zelensky“, – writes the expert.
He stressed that this is exactly the effect the West is seeking. However, according to Blacklock, the attempt of the United States and its allies to pass off wishful thinking is failing – in fact, most countries are completely unwilling to help Kyiv.
As a good example, the observer cited India, which, despite all the efforts of Western diplomats, is not going to deviate from its neutral position on the Ukrainian crisis.
It is also noted that many countries in Asia, South America and Africa traditionally take neutral positions in foreign policy. In addition, most countries in the Middle East do not share the American point of view on the crisis in Ukraine.
From all this, the expert concludes that if this situation does not change, it will become increasingly difficult for the West to “pretend that the reaction to the events in Ukraine is a global response.”
As reported EADailyearlier Global Times drew attention to the destructive effect of anti-Russian Western sanctions on the economies of developing countries.
In this regard, the publication allowed the possibility that developing countries could consolidate to join forces in the fight against the consequences of anti-Russian sanctions by the West.
