The authorities of the Donetsk People’s Republic will set the exchange rate, according to which one hryvnia will be equivalent to two Russian rubles, the changes will come into force on May 23.
The corresponding decree was published on Saturday on the website of the head of the DPR Denis Pushilin.
“Introduce subparagraph 1.3 of paragraph 1 of the decree of the head of the Donetsk People’s Republic dated March 26, 2022 No. 104 “On the temporary procedure for using cash Ukrainian hryvnia on the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic” by replacing the words “2.5 Russian rubles” with the words “2.0 Russian ruble,” the text of the decree says.
From May 23, the authorities of the Lugansk People’s Republic will also set the exchange rate of the ruble against the hryvnia in the amount of two Russian rubles for one Ukrainian hryvnia, as evidenced by the Saturday decree of the LPR government.
