Gazprom and German Siemens Energy continue correspondence regarding the transportation of a turbine for Nord Stream to the Russian Federation. So far, the parties have not been able to reach an agreement.
On Wednesday evening, Gazprom announced the impossibility of returning turbines for Nord Stream to Russia. “The sanctions regimes of Canada, the EU, the UK and the inconsistency of the current situation with the current contractual obligations on the part of Siemens make the delivery of the 073 engine to the Portovaya compressor station impossible,” the message posted on the company’s telegram channel says.
Earlier, Gazprom pointed out that the route for transporting the turbine from Canada was changed without the company’s consent and now does not meet the contractual terms. Siemens Energy, which repaired the turbine in Canada, agreed with the German authorities on the delivery of the unit first to Germany, and only then to Russia.
According to the deputy head of Gazprom, Vitaly Markelov, now the company needs guarantees from Canada, the European Union and the UK that sanctions will not be applied, writes Forbes.
Meanwhile, according to Kommersant, on August 3, Gazprom received a decision from the German authorities confirming the possibility of the turbine passing through customs by the end of July 2023. The head of Germany, Olaf Scholz, said that there are no obstacles on the part of Germany to the transportation of the turbine to the Russian Federation and only the consent of Gazprom is missing.

“From this we can assume that the flow through Nord Stream-1 is unlikely to increase in the near future,” says Vasily Karpunin, an expert at BCS World of Investments.
The investment company believes that there is a significant downside risk for Gazprom shares, as a large proportion of the gas giant’s shares remain in the portfolios of private investors. According to the Moscow Exchange, in the structure of the top 10 most popular securities of the Russian market, the share of Gazprom is 28.7%.
“There is still a huge number of investors who have not exited the shares after the end of June were canceled dividends . This means that in the medium term, the overhang of potential sellers will remain high. Any local growth waves will stumble over significant volumes for sale. So, in such conditions, one should not expect better than the market dynamics from Gazprom shares,” Karpunin warned in the morning review.

On Thursday, August 4, Alibaba will release its first quarter fiscal 2022 results.
Analysts predict that Alibaba’s revenue may decline for the first time in the company’s history, writes CNBC. Consensus assembled by Refinitiv expects the Chinese e-commerce giant to report revenue of 203.23 billion yuan ($31.87 billion), down 1.2% from a year ago, according to Refinitiv consensus forecasts. In the same quarter last year, Alibaba’s revenue was 205.75 billion yuan ($30.05 billion)
Alibaba’s revenue has fallen sharply over the past year amid a slowdown in the Chinese economy, a new wave of COVID-19, and tightening regulation in the domestic technology sector.
At the same time, US Tiger Securities experts believe that the results of the Internet giant hit the bottom in the last quarter and will begin to recover in the second half of 2022.
“We remain positive as the government continues to step up economic stimulus measures to meet its GDP growth target,” analysts at the investment firm wrote in a review.

Dividends are the portion of profits or free cash flow (FCF) that a company pays out to shareholders. The payout amount depends on the dividend policy. Their periodicity is also spelled out there – once a year, every half year or quarter. There are companies that do not pay dividends, but direct profits to business development or simply do not have the opportunity due to poor results. Shares of dividend companies are most often of interest to investors who want to achieve financial independence or secure a decent standard of living in retirement. With the help of dividends, they create a source of passive income for themselves. More
