A provocative video in which Russian Pyotr Davydchenko eats a live bat in front of the European Parliament building is put up for sale in the form of an NFT token on the Opensea marketplace
You can buy the video for $ 4,000
The protest of the Russian activist and artist Pyotr Davydchenko against Big Pharma (large pharmaceutical companies) and the policies of the European Parliament made it onto the pages of international publications. A man ate a bat, believed to be the source of the coronavirus, right in front of the European Parliament.
Thus, Davydchenko spoke out against large pharmaceutical companies that produce vaccines against coronavirus and sell them at inflated prices. As a result of these policies, the world’s poorest countries are simply unable to obtain vaccines for their populations.
“By taking the blood of the animal that has become a symbol of the origin of Covid-19, I strive to create my own vaccine against this disease and receive immunization not only against the coronavirus, but also against the corporate greed that drives the actions of large pharmaceutical companies,” Davydchenko said.
The video of eating a live bat quickly spread across the Internet and was even put up for sale in the form of an NFT token on the Opensea marketplace. At the time of this writing, the cost of the token is over $ 4000, but no one has yet found anyone willing to purchase the strange video.
NFT token market is growing rapidly
Last year the total size of all transactions made in the sector non-fungible tokens (NFT), grew by an impressive 299% in annual terms and exceeded $ 250 million, according to the results of a joint study conducted by NonFungible.com and L’Atelier BNP Paribas. This is not surprising, given that the cost of some NFT tokens can reach $ 600K.
Note that the most expensive NFT token that was sold in the entire history of the market was a crypto cat named Dragon. For the possession of a virtual picture, the user paid 600 ETH, which at the current exchange rate is about $ 600 thousand or 45 million rubles.
For the same amount you can buy your own cottage in Yalta or a villa on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea.
The most popular place for buying and selling NFT tokens remains the Opensea marketplace, which is visited by over 700 thousand people every month, and the main buyers of tokens are citizens of the USA, Canada and Luxembourg.
The total number of active wallets participating in NFT transactions increased over the year by 97% to 222,179. For comparison, in 2019 the number of such wallets was 112,731.
