The British company Diageo, which produces alcoholic beverages under the brands Smirnoff, Johnnie Walker, Guinness, Baileys, Captain Morgan and others, announced that it was leaving the Russian market.
Against the backdrop of a military special operation in Ukraine, the company decided to temporarily suspend the supply of its products to Russia. It has now been decided to completely withdraw from the market, writes “Kommersant” with reference to the statement of the company.
The company noted that the process of exiting the market will stretch for six months. During this period, the company will continue to support employees who worked in Russia.
The British Diageo supplied its products to about 70,000 Russian stores and about 19,000 restaurants and bars.
