Cryptocurrency exchange OKEX launched its own Flow platform for trading NFT tokens, and also listed the FLOW token.
OKEX will start selling NFT tokens
Cryptocurrency exchange OKEX announced the launch of its own blockchain platform Flow, which will be used to sell non-fungible tokens (NFT). The first token to appear on the platform will be the National Basketball Association (NBA) NFT – NBA Top Shot. The FLOW token will be the internal payment instrument of the platform. The same token will be traded on the main site OKEX.
“Officially licensed by the National Basketball Association, NBA Top shot is currently pushing NFT to mainstream adoption, with sales reaching over $ 45 million in the last 24 hours alone. Just last week, one blockchain-based collectible “Moment” – a 13-second video of star player Zion Williamson – sold for a whopping $ 100,000, the company said.
The Flow platform, developed in collaboration with several leading global partners including NBA, Samsung and Warner Music Group, is now open to anyone wishing to develop decentralization apps. Flow allows developers to create new cryptocurrency ventures, unique digital assets that can be traded in open markets.
“Flow has already established itself as a fast and secure platform for developers to create a range of games, digital assets and consumer applications, and will undoubtedly play a large role in the proliferation of NFTs,” commented Jay Hao, CEO of OKEx.
FLOW / USDT will start spot trading at 17:00 UTC on February 23rd, while FLOW / ETH and FLOW / BTC will open an hour later.
Global brands conquer the NFT token market
Note that the NBA is not the first public organization to issue its own NFT tokens. Other well-known companies and world heavyweights have also taken up the NFT market. Nike, Louis Vuitton and Warner Music presented their collectible tokens and games on it. Recently, Tokyo-based cryptocurrency exchange Coincheck announced the takeover of the non-fungible token developer Metaps Alpha as part of its expansion into the NFT market.
Technological giant Microsoft also did not stay away from new trends and announced a partnership with the Enjin blockchain gaming platform for the release of customizable NFT tokens. They will be compatible with the Minecraft video game.
Recall that an NFT token with cards for a computer game based on the sci-fi series Doctor Who was released earlier. And graphic designer Beeple launched a sale of non-fungible tokens on the Nifty Gateway platform and earned over half a million dollars in five minutes.
