Canada is ready to use its ships in the export of grain from Ukraine, CTV reported, citing the head of the Canadian Foreign Ministry Melanie Joly.
According to him, we are talking about sending ships to “European ports”, from where they will deliver wheat to countries in need.
“The world needs to get these grains. If this does not happen, millions of people will face starvation,” Joly, who took part in the G7 ministerial meeting in Germany, was quoted by CTV.
In the final statement, the G7 accused Russia of hindering Ukraine’s agricultural exports and made it responsible for rising prices on world food markets. Russian authorities deny such accusations. The G7 added that the sanctions it imposes against Russia will not affect food supplies to developing countries.
