Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates has become another famous person who decided to express his attitude towards bitcoin
In an interview with CNBC, he said that he did not invest in bitcoin and would not like to make predictions about the movement of its price:
“I don’t have bitcoin and I don’t play to lower its price, so I try to be neutral. BTC price can rise and fall depending on mania or some considerations. I don’t know what his prospects are. “
Gates believes many are using digital currency for tax evasion or illegal activities. But the charity work of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is digitizing money with “absolute transparency.”
Gates’ current remarks reflect his previous statements made in 2018. Then he criticized the anonymity of cryptocurrency transactions and believed that they were used to buy drugs, and even directly named this technology as one of the reasons causing the death of people.
Although he has no longer served on Microsoft’s board since March last year, Gates’s position on cryptocurrencies and bitcoin is similar to that of the tech company. Earlier, Microsoft President Brad Smith noted that the firm has no plans to invest in bitcoin in the near future.
