“I’m not overly optimistic about Bitcoin, and my general thought is that if you have less money than Elon, you should probably be more careful,” Gates said.
The Microsoft co-founder also noted that digital currencies should be transparent and transactions reversible. As an example, he cited the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, where all transfers can be tracked.
Earlier, Elon Musk called Tesla’s investment in Bitcoin “risky enough” and hinted that it was not his decision.
According to analysts, the company’s unrealized profits from the purchase of digital gold exceeded the revenues from the sale of electric vehicles for the entire 2020.
